The girl behind the camera
I love telling stories through photographs that feel genuine and true to the people in them. While I value beautiful portraits, I'm most inspired by the candid moments that happen in between. The moments you didn't plan for are often the ones you'll treasure most. My goal is to create images that feel just as meaningful years from now as they do today. Photographs that bring you back to a specific season of life and remind you not only how it looked, but what it felt like to live it.
Meet Kaidence
A little bit about me ...
I’ve been obsessed with documenting people since I was a kid holding a little purple Nikon point-and-shoot, forcing my younger siblings to be my models. Looking back, I’m not sure they loved it, but I definitely did.
That love for photography stuck with me. I worked in photojournalism in college, gaining the opportunity to travel around the country shooting Husker sports (GO BIG RED!), and now I teach English, yearbook, and photojournalism to high school students. So much of what I do revolves around storytelling.
When I’m not behind the camera or in the classroom, you’ll probably find me sitting in front of my sewing machine, watching competition reality TV (my faves are Big Brother, RuPaul’s Drag Race, and Survivor), baking sourdough bread, tending to my garden, or sitting passenger princess in my boyfriend’s car on the way to HTeaO.
I describe myself as an “extroverted introvert.” While I can definitely talk, I love observing and listening to your story even more. When I’m behind the camera, my goal is to capture your reality: the way you naturally interact, laugh, and connect with each other.
